Genome sequencing of pancreatic cancer: differential expression by location

نویسندگان

چکیده

The results demonstrated that pancreatic ductal carcinoma (PDAC) of the body/tail was associated with more transcriptional and genomic changes, correlated worse prognosis, than PDAC head. different mutation types gene expression tumour locations provide deep insight into carcinogenesis or metastasis PDAC, suggest early diagnostic therapeutic strategies. SNV, single-nucleotide variations; NLS, Nuclear localization sequence; MB, million base-pairs; UTR, untranslated region.

Genome sequencing and cancer.

New technologies for DNA sequencing, coupled with advanced analytical approaches, are now providing unprecedented speed and precision in decoding human genomes. This combination of technology and analysis, when applied to the study of cancer genomes, is revealing specific and novel information about the fundamental genetic mechanisms that underlie cancer's development and progression. This revi...

Differential microRNA expression by Solexa sequencing in the sera of ovarian cancer patients.

MicroRNAs are a class of small noncoding RNA which play important regulatory roles in a variety of cancers. MiRNA-specific expression profiles have been reported for several pathological conditions. In this study, we combined large scale parallel Solexa sequencing to identify 11 up-regulated miRNAs and 19 down-regulated miRNAs with computational techniques in the sera of ovarian cancer patients...

Whole Genome Sequencing Defines the Genetic Heterogeneity of Familial Pancreatic Cancer.

UNLABELLED Pancreatic cancer is projected to become the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States by 2020. A familial aggregation of pancreatic cancer has been established, but the cause of this aggregation in most families is unknown. To determine the genetic basis of susceptibility in these families, we sequenced the germline genomes of 638 patients with familial pancr...

Whole cancer genome sequencing by next-generation methods.

Traditional approaches to sequence analysis are widely used to guide therapy for patients with lung and colorectal cancer and for patients with melanoma, sarcomas (eg, gastrointestinal stromal tumor), and subtypes of leukemia and lymphoma. The next-generation sequencing (NGS) approach holds a number of potential advantages over traditional methods, including the ability to fully sequence large ...

Clinical relevance of cancer genome sequencing.

The arrival of both high-throughput and bench-top next-generation sequencing technologies and sequence enrichment methods has revolutionized our approach to dissecting the genetic basis of cancer. These technologies have been almost invariably employed in whole-genome sequencing (WGS) and whole-exome sequencing (WES) studies. Both WGS and WES approaches have been widely applied to interrogate t...
